cold begone before winter begone

so i talked it over with my coach and he gave me the go ahead to do the winter begone duathlon. his only requirements are that i hit the lap button between runs and the bike and that i go harder than i normally would on the bike. oooooookaaayyyy..... so go hard on the first run, go all out on the bike and hold on for the second run. i can do that! he really wants this race to be all about the bike. i was supposed to do a lactate threshold heart rate test on sunday but if i go all out on the bike then that will count as my test.

im really looking forward to it because i will know several people racing! Brian, Steve, Pharmie and Borsch! it will also be my first duathlon and my first time racing this year! i should be healthier by then since i feel much better today than yesterday. im looking forward to it.

If the weather holds as planned, you may be singing a different tune! Not looking at all pleasant at the moment. Anyway, I am heading down to stay in Rochester Sat night. I'll meet you in the transition area sometime race morning? I expect with the cold weather I'll be wearing my purple & yellow warm-up attire. Are you doing the long or the short?

What is your age group? I'll give you the run down....

So the 30-34 age group. Counting you, there are 8 current males registered in that AG and I know you can beat two of them for sure. The rest, I dunno. But you will do well. Only 28 males total for the whole SC race but I expect race day entries. Last years short winner, Mario Minelli is switching to the long course while last years LC champ, Mike Gruba is dealing with a fracture & is attempting the SC. The 2nd & 3rd SC finishers will be back. Had I not missed the bike turn last year I would have been with those two. The SC will have some fast dudes. 1:10-1:15 should get you top 5 overall....but that's just a guess. That's the exact range I'll be shooting for as well as long as I don't come up lame (Achilles).

Dude, I think I would have either curled into a fetal position and cried or gone postal. One of the two. If David doesn't believe you...let me know and I'll e-mail him! As it was, I was riding on a defective tire. So it could have been lights out for me as well. I think we need to find a less expensive and taxing hobby!
